Our Elmore Chairman’s Muster draws to a close

A delicious bacon and egg or sausage and egg sandwich breakfast started Day 5 on Monday for the majority of our members for the last day of our ACC Chairman’s Muster at Elmore.

During the morning, members attended a technical session at The Hub.  This included a presentation by Derek Hale (ACC East Gippsland Roadrunners) who gave an overview of the results from the Newmerella RV weigh in held in January 2017 conducted by VicRoads and Victorian Police.  Derek emphasised the importance of ensuring that our tow vehicles and RVs fall within legal limits.

Derek’s presentation was followed by a presentation by Catherine Howe from SavvyLevel.  Members listened with interest about how the SavvyLevel works and how easy it is to use as a levelling device.  Indeed following Catherine’s presentation, a number of our members queued to make a purchase at the special ACC members only price which can be found on our ACC member benefits – non accommodation listings on our Club’s website.

Our final technical presenter was Ben Somerville who gave a presentation on caravan design and construction.

Day 5 concluded with the final Happy Hour for the muster.  Vince Padgett entertained us with some great songs with members joining in, gifts of thanks were presented to our muster co-ordinators Kaye and Ian Hocking, to our site coordinator Leigh Marshall (aka Stretchlizard) and Derek Hale paid tribute to and thanked our Chairman Craig for selecting Victoria as the venue for our 2018 National Muster.  Chairman Craig thanked Geoff Halson for his preparatory work and the three directors Graham Christie, Lynne Friis and Greg Sonter for making the long journey South from Queensland to Elmore to attend the muster.

Tuesday will sadly see the great exodus of members from the Elmore Events Centre, marking the end of what could only be said was a truly great muster, thoroughly enjoyed by all who came.
