The Board has entered into an agreement with KT Insurance to provide caravan insurance to members of the Australian Caravan Club Ltd. KT Insurance have the experience in the caravan/motorhome area to provide a product that may suit your needs. All you need to do is ring the number (1300 261 261), quote your membership number and request a quote.

The final of the Branch Operation Procedure has been completed and will be forwarded to the branches during the week.

The Queensland State Muster was a success with another State Muster to be held in 2027.

The Board completed a request from the ACCC re the acquisition of several parks from a private ownership to that of Discovery Parks.

Call for Nominations
Nominations are now being called for the 2026 ACC Service Awards. Nominations can be made by any current financial member of the ACC and any nominee must also be a current financial member of the ACC. Nominees can be a member of a Branch of the ACC or a member of the ACC and must meet the following criteria.
Show an industrious approach, exemplary contribution and a high level of dedication over a minimum of five years.
Nominations must also include the names and contact details of two referees (different to the Nominator). These nominations must be submitted on the official Nomination Form which can be found on the ACC Website. Any nomination submitted in any other form will be returned for re submission on the correct form.

Branch Activities
The Chairman's Run - Darling River

The Chairman's Run - Darling River gave us some challenges as the rain kept the roads closed to several places we wanted to visit. With 10 vans we travelled to Bourke and ended up staying another 2 nights, before travelling to Cobar as the roads were closed heading to Louth. We eventually made it to Wilcannia for a great couple of day at Warrawong on the Darling, an ACC RV STAY park. We were lucky that by the time we needed to head to Menindee the western road down the Darling was open. On reaching Copi Holow Caravan Park, we headed out to Kinchega Woolshed, Bourke & Wills Camp Site, while some ventured into Broken Hill others visited Sunset Strip. Next Stop Pooncarie. A visit to Mungo National Park, and a meal at the Pooncarie Hotel were made for an enjoyable stay. With Wentworth our stop, we all enjoyed seeing the junction of the Darling and the Murray and our farewell Dinner. Little did we know that by the end of the trip we had contributed $27,128 to the local economy |
Queensland State Muster
The Queensland State Muster bought together members for all over Queensland for a week of friendship and fun. With happy hours, games afternoons, farm visit, macadamia deserts and just a good time.
ACC Sugar City Pioneers Hillsborough Muster
Members gathered at Cape Hillsborough for a four-day muster in May. The location being close to their base in Mackay, has often been overlooked by members. It offered a very scenic and relaxing environment for muster attendees. With the addition of numerous games we were all well entertained.
The early morning wallaby feeding on the beach attracted strong interest from both park attendees, and the public. Put it on your list, it is a great location.
ACC Sugar City Pioneers Christmas in July Muster at Finch Hatton
Members had a great few days celebrating Christmas in July at Finch Hatton Showgrounds. Although a wet start to the muster, the weather turned around on day 2 to end up perfect for the rest of the muster. The branch also took advantage of the muster and held their AGM during the event with several members coming out for the AGM.
Industry News
Over the past months we have heard of many caravan businesses and manufacturers either going into administration or just simply closing. The current list consists of:
- Sunland RV, X Series RV Pty Ltd, Global RV Corp Pty Ltd (Sunland, Phoenix, X Series)
- Network RV (Vancraft, Next Gen, Victory) as well as 3 Fair Dinkham dealerships)
- Great Aussie Caravans
- Ourgen RV
- Star Vision
Note: The JB Group have purchased the intellectual properties of Network RV.
While the above news is certainly not good news, the industry report for 2025 still shows some encouraging signs.
- The Australian registered fleet increased by 4% to approximately 937,000 vehicles
- Australian manufacturers produced 23,963 units during 2025, down 5% on the previous year but still 12% above 2019 levels.
- Caravan production was particularly strong, increasing by 7.3% to 18,438 units
- Caravan and trailer imports increased by 16% to 23,244 units
