Caravanners to invade Lake Hume

Caravanners and other RV owners are expected to descend on the Lake Hume Caravan Park next month in a move to start a new Border Region Branch of the ACC (Australian Caravan Club). (RV stands for Recreational Vehicle and includes campervans and motor-homes)

Following the very successful Border RV Expo last year, a number of local RVers signed up as Members of the ACC and a branch in this area will give them a focus for their chosen lifestyle.

Members of other Victorian branches will also be attending the ‘Muster’ on the weekend of 25/26th of February and it is expected that the new branch will be formed at a meeting to be held at 2.30pm on Saturday, 25th of Feb.

Although only just over five years old, the ACC is a truly National organisation with branches in every Mainland State.

Members attend social events called Musters, enjoy tag-a-long tours, and receive benefits from being members.

A warm welcome is in store for any caravanners or RV owners living in a wide area with a radius centred on Albury/Wodonga but extending to Wagga Wagga and along the Murray. They can come for the weekend or longer or just turn up for the meeting on Saturday.

Fun and Games

With games of Bocce and ‘Klop’ being organised and a night out at the Thurgoona Country Club plus ‘Happy Hours’ each afternoon, there will be plenty of activity for members to have fun.

The Lake is almost full so those not quite as energetic will find enjoyment quietly looking at the great view.

People wishing to stay at the Caravan Park should book in by contacting:
Lake Hume Caravan Park, phone: 02 6049 8100 Tell them you are with the ACC.

OzParks Restricts Club Discount to ACC only

As of January 2012  Oz Parks will withdraw the member discount offer to all  RV club members, excluding the Australian Caravan Club (ACC).

The present discount arrangement with the ACC and its members will remain in place into the foreseeable future.{rokaccess!guest}
This decision has been made as a result of park owner/management requests to Oz Parks Directors for the scheme to be abandoned in favour of Oz Parks Members only.
OzJohn (John Corrall), an Oz Parks Director and ACC member, was able to maintain the ACC member discount at its present level.
ACC members however should realise that the discount can only remain in place with their support.

Branch muster organisers are encouraged to consider the OZParks Chain for their musters
