Bushranger Muster

27 September to 7 October 2018

 

 

 

General Information

 

Join other members of the Sydney City Slickers and your hosts, Danny & Denise Kite, as we meander through parts of South Western NSW following the path of infamous bushrangers who operated in the area during the early days of NSW.

A brief summary of the highlights of the muster is:

  • The Shooting of Constable Samuel Nelson at Collector.
  • The shooting of Sergeant Edmund Parry at Jugiong.
  • The Shooting of John Gilbert at Binalong.
  • A possible visitation to Iandra Castle, near Grenfell.
  • A visit to Ben Hall Cave at Weddin Mountains National Park (**note comment about pets).
  • The Grave site of Ben Hall at Forbes Cemetery.
  • The shooting site of Ben Hall at Billabong Creek, near Forbes.
  • The site of the Escort Gold Robbery at Eugowra.
  • The Township of Canowindra held captive for 3 days.

Overnight stops will be:

  • 2 nights at caravan park at Goulburn
  • 2 nights at FREE Camp at Binalong.
  • 2 nights at caravan park at Grenfell.
  • 2 nights at caravan park at Forbes.
  • 2 nights at caravan park at Canowindra.

Caravan Park/Campsite Accommodation   

Following registration for this event, members are required to make their own caravan park bookings for the tagalong.  The cost for accommodation at each destination and the contact details are shown in the itinerary.

Pets

Generally this is a pet friendly muster. 

** Note - The trip to Ben Hall Cave is in the Weddin National Park where the entry of pets is forbid.

Please refer to the ACC Pet Policy (effective 27/1/17) that is appended.
