Budget Camping Resource Instructions
Accessing the Budget Campsite Resource
You can access the Budget Campsite Resource by signing in to the club web site with your personal username and password.
The public and the “generic usernames” (those that are distributed with The Nomad) cannot access the Budget Campsite Resource.
Click on the Budget Campsites menu item on the left to go to the resource.
Viewing Campsite Entries
A detailed list of Budget Campsites already input by members is displayed.
Clicking on an entry's title will provide further review detail and allow you to add your own review on a particular campsite.
Whilst viewing the detailed entry, if you click on any image you will see a larger version of the image.
Sorting Campsite Entries
You can use the Search field or the Advanced Search above the listings to limit the display of campsites to those you are interested in, and if you click on the "State" code in the detail, only entries from that state will be displayed. To restore the full list just click on the Budget Campsites menu item again.
You can use the drop down list above the listings to sort the entries into various orders.
There is a box at the bottom of the listing where you can set the number of entries per page from 5 to 50.
Printing a Camps List
To print a listing of the entries, just set the number of entries per page that you require and use your browser print facility to print out the page.
Submitting a New Camp Entry
Please, only submit entries for campsites that you have had personal experience.
Click Add New Entry on the right just above the camp lists.
The Camp Entry form is displayed.
All items with a red * are compulsory.
Put the name of the Campsite in the Item Title.
Most of the items have a drop down selection list, just select the appropriate one. Some of the lists have a facility to add extra options such as the limit and cost items. You can add additional options in these by clicking Add new option.
The Hema Map reference currently refers to Version 7 of the Hema Atlas, if you have a different version still include the Hema Map Reference Data but add your Version number in brackets following the Grid reference [ie E12 (V4)].
When entering the website of the Controlling Authority, you need to preface it with http://
The little blue disc with an "I" is a Tool Tip. Move the mouse over the disc and some help text will be displayed.
There are two comments areas available, the first comment area can be used to provide further information about the facilities at the camp site. ie Has disabled access or lots of shade or need an external aerial for Next G. The second comment area, the Review Comment, at the end of the form, should contain comments regarding the quality of the camp site.
You may attach up to two images of the camp site to your entry. Each is a maximum of 60kb.
The form for submitting a new entry also includes an area for your initial review, this is where you can rate the quality of the camp site.
You should enter the date that you last visited the campsite in the Review Title field, this allows other members to gauge the timeliness of the review. The date should be in the form Month, Year. e.g. February 2008.
Provide your "star" rating of the quality of the campsite from the drop down list.
Enter your comments as to the quality of the campsite in the Comments area.
The author of the initial camp entry has the ability to edit that entry.
Adding a Review to an Existing Camp Entry
You can add you own comments on any existing camp sites entries or provide information on anything that has changed at a campsite.
Click on the title of the Camp listing and then click Add new review in the user reviews area at the bottom of the camp detail display.
A review form will open up.
You should enter the date that you last visited the campsite in the Review Title field, this allows other members to gauge the timeliness of the review. The date should be in the form Month, Year. e.g. February 2008.
Provide your "star" rating of the quality of the campsite from the drop down list.
Enter your comments as to the quality of the campsite in the Comments area or any changes that have.
